The initiative for this website was taken by VVV & Toerisme Brakel, a non-profit organization for tourist traffic.
The Belgian city of Brakel is situated in the south of the province of East Flanders 45 km west of Brussels and 35 km south of Ghent, the capital of the province. Brakel is surounded by Oudenaarde, Ronse, Zottegem and Geraardsbergen.

The undulating and hilly landscape – a patchwork of fields, pastures and woods – is a typical feature of both the Flemish Ardennes and the Zwalm region. And the famous setting for the Tour of Flanders bicycle race.

The aim of this website is to promote Brakel and its tourist activities. You will also be informed about the VVV and its rich history, the achievements over 35 years and the available tourism publications.
